Headed for Vegas, Number 2!

OTP Author Marilyn (F.M.) Meredith is packing for Vegas too, though since she has handed over the daunting task of Program Chair of the conference to Mike Black, she can pack a little lighter!

OTP has done a baker's dozen titles with Marilyn, and we look forward to many many more. However, I am going to limit myself to highlighting just the most recent three Rocky Bluff PD novels.

AWARD WINNING AUTHOR F.M. Meredith, also known as Marilyn Meredith, is the author of thirty published novels.

F. M. has been neighbors with and has many relatives who are in law enforcement and for many years lived in a beach community with a strong resemblance to Rocky Bluff.

Marilyn is a member of EPIC, four chapters of Sisters in Crime, including the Internet chapter, Mystery Writers of America, and on the board of the Public Safety Writers of America.
Meredith lives in California’s Central Valley with her husband, Hap, their children and grandchildren.

Meredith recently won the EPIC award for her stand-alone novel, Lingering Spirit.

College student Veronica Randall, disappears from her car in her own driveway, everyone in the Rocky Bluff P.D. is looking for her. Detective Milligan and family move into a house that may be haunted. Officer Butler is assigned to train a new hire and faces several major challenges.

In  the tenth novel in the Rocky Bluff P.D. series, the body that washes up on the beach leads Detectives Milligan and Zachary on a murder investigation that includes the victim’s family members, his housekeeper, three long-time friends, and a mystery woman.

In DANGEROUS IMPULSES, the ninth novel in the Rocky Bluff P.D. series, an attractive new-hire captivates Officer Gordon Butler, Officer Felix Zachary’s wife is befuddled by her new baby, and Ryan and Barbara Strickland receive unsettling news.

RBPD Officers investigate the bloody murder of a mother and her son, and try to locate the source of an unidentified drug that sickens teenaged partiers, but nobody is talking.

I'll enjoy seeing Marilyn in Vegas for sure, but since we now live just a quick 40 minute drive apart, I am lucky enough to visit with her often. We are 'doing lunch' this upcoming week and are able to attend Sisters in Crime together fairly often, plus we both are active in the Kings' Tulare Writing group, where Marilyn will be the featured speaker this coming Saturday, June 20!  Hey, it's just one of the perks of being a publisher, right?

PSWA should be a good time for all of us to catch up with each other. Violent Departures looks like another winner.

Another great posting for one of my fellow OTP authors. Marilyn has to be an inspiration to all of us with her endless energy, her ability to pump out great books almost faster than we can read them and still tend to a zillion personal projects. On a blog she was featured on, someone said if the Energizer bunny had a face, it would be Marilyn's. I actually think that sums it up perfectly.

I enjoyed writing Violent Departures, Janet, and hope anyone reading it will also enjoy it. Thanks for commenting, Janet.

Well, Jackie, my fall resulting in sore ribs has certainly slowed me down. Fortunately, sitting is one of the least painful positions so I'm busy writing the next RBPD mystery with a character named Jacke Zortman.

Of course that's a typo, the character is named Jackie.
